A teenage UAE cricketer achieved a major feat when he picked up a double hat-trick. Harshit Seth achieved the feat by taking a wicket of every ball in an over.

Harshit Seth, a Dubai youngster, set a new record by scoring a double hat-trick on November 28.

In the six-team Under-19 Karwan Global Twenty20 League tournament, the grade 11 student took a wicket off every ball in his over.

Seth, a left-arm spinner for Dubai Cricket Council Starlets, took eight wickets against Pakistan’s Hyderabad Hawks Academy RCG in Ajman to propel his team to a comfortable victory.

Four of his dismissals were bowled, three were called leg-before-wicket, and one batsman was caught, emphasising Seth’s control and accuracy. He began his career as a pacer at the Dubai Gems Modern Academy.

During an interview with the media, Seth stated, “I didn’t expect it” (the record). I never thought a bowler could get six wickets in a row (in an over). I just wanted to bowl as if I hadn’t gotten a wicket and not think about it.”

Six straight wickets in an over, by the way, has never been achieved in international cricket.

During the second Test against India in Mumbai, Ajaz Patel of New Zealand became only the third bowler in Test history to take all ten wickets in an innings.

Naturally, the notion of bowling an over that dreams are made of preoccupied the teenager before flinging his sixth delivery.

Seth went on to say, “No, I wasn’t under any pressure. When it came time to bowl the sixth ball, I was a little worried. But I didn’t want to become greedy because things may go wrong if I went after wickets. So I didn’t want to go for the wicket; instead, I wanted to focus on the fundamentals of a solid line and length. That landed me the wickets.”
