In an interview on March 31, actor Gautami Kapoor discussed her lifestyle, nutrition, and exercise routine. She revealed that her workouts include weight training, Pilates, and cardio exercises like Zumba or walking on a treadmill. Gautami Kapoor also shared that she initially focused on running and aerobics but later realized she was overtraining. Interestingly, the 50-year-old actress mentioned that she ‘began exercising at 15 long before gyms were common.
Gym or fitness is my holy grail
The actor claimed that she now pays attention to her body after years of “excessive cardio and extreme diets without proper guidance,” saying, “I am consistent with my workouts but I don’t push myself unnecessarily.” Workouts are modified according to my body’s needs as I age and go through perimenopause. I don’t have to prove anything to anyone, and going to the gym helps me decompress. I feel very at ease when I come out. Exercise and the gym are my holy grail. Cardio makes me too skinny because I’m naturally slender. Every week, my trainer modifies my HIIT exercises according to my mood.
Gautami’s diet is disciplined and not restricted
Gautami Kapoor eats everything, but only during set mealtimes. She rarely snacks outside of homemade protein bars, almonds, and seeds. Due to health concerns, she has also stopped eating dairy.
“People assume I avoid fried food, ghee, or butter, but I eat everything,” the performer revealed when discussing her diet. I eat at 11:30 am and finish my last meal by 6:30 am, so my meals are set. I’m glad I don’t have a sweet craving because I quit eating milk and curd. After all, they made me uncomfortable. Not even the transition to almond milk has occurred to me. I’ve only drank warm water for the past 20 years and drink black coffee twice a day. All day long, only warm water—neither chilly nor room temperature.
More details about Gautami’s diet
