On Monday, the captain of Punjab Kings (PBKS) and prominent player of Star India achieved a significant milestone in his Indian Premier League (IPL) career by completing his 50th half-century. In a recent IPL 2023 match against Kolkata Knight Riders at Eden Gardens, Kolkata, he achieved the significant milestone for his team. Amidst an increase of wickets from the opposing team, Shikhar Dhawan delivered a careful performance, scoring 57 runs in 47 balls.

His impressive knock included nine fours and a six. At a strike rate of 121.27, he managed to score his runs. In a remarkable feat, he has become only the second Indian cricketer after Virat Kohli of Royal Challengers Bangalore and the third overall, following David Warner of Delhi Capitals, to achieve the milestone of scoring 50 half-centuries in his career.

With a total of 57 fifties, Warner has secured the top spot for the most fifties in IPL history. Indian cricketers Virat Kohli and Shikhar Dhawan have both achieved a notable milestone, with each player having scored fifty half-centuries in their respective careers.

With a total of 61 fifty-plus scores, including four centuries, David Warner has secured the record for the most such scores in IPL history. Virat also has 55 fifty-plus scores in IPL, including his five centuries.

In his IPL career, Shikhar has amassed a noteworthy 52 fifty-plus scores, which includes a pair of fifties.

In a recent Indian Premier League (IPL) match at Eden Gardens, Punjab Kings managed to put up a competitive total of 179/7 against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). The team was led by skipper Shikhar Dhawan, who scored a half-century. Additionally, Shahrukh Khan and Harpreet Brar contributed with some late cameos to help Punjab Kings reach their target.

PBKS faced a challenging situation after being reduced to 53/3 in the powerplay. However, a 53-run partnership between the skilled Shikhar and the in-form Jitesh Sharma (21) appeared to revive PBKS’s chances in the game. Once again, the visitors found themselves lost and unsure of their direction. In a stunning display of power hitting, Shahrukh and Harpreet managed to score a total of 36 runs in the last two overs of the match, with an impressive 21 runs being scored in the final over alone.

This incredible performance helped PBKS achieve a formidable total, putting up a strong fight against their opponents. Unfortunately, the sum fell short. In a thrilling match, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) secured a five-wicket victory with the help of a half-century by skipper Nitish Rana and impressive performances from Andre Russell and Rinku Singh.
