Journey of a middle-class boy who used influencer marketing to build multi-crore biz

Abhishek Vyas, a B. Tech graduate with an MBA, worked in a few places and co-founded a website development and ERP firm before launching My Haul Store, an influencer marketing company. He had just Rs 7000 and borrowed Rs 1.75 lakh to launch his Bengaluru-based firm, which today employs 60 people and provides earning possibilities to 20,000 social media influencers, who earn anything between a few thousand and a few million rupees each month. Businesses have been investing more money on social media influencers in recent years to assist increase product sales and promote brand awareness by talking about the items or offering reviews. Influencers connect brands with customers directly in various forms like as posts, stories, and reels, and they make money from sales that occur through the affiliate links supplied in their posts.

Abhishek gives the example of an insurance firm that would provide pet insurance, in which the corporation would think of methods to emotionally connect with the clients and tie up with someone who has a pet with a significant social media following. Abhishek grew up in Bhilwara, where his father is a physical education teacher and his mother is an anganwadi centre administrator. He attended a government school and earned his B.Tech in IT in 2010.He subsequently proceeded to Udaipur to study for the Sub-Inspector post-test, which he failed. After obtaining his MBA, he worked as a real estate agent for six months before moving to Pune in search of an IT career.

In Bangalore, he got work as a sales professional at Just Dial, earning Rs 35,000 per month. He had to return to his hometown, though, to attend a friend’s wedding, and his parents encouraged him to stay with them.

Abhishek invested Rs 40,000 in Nexove IT Solutions Pvt Ltd in 2013, but the company struggled. He delegated business management to a buddy and supplemented his income by working as an insurance agent at a bank in Bhilwara. He married Anchal Dwivedi in 2015, and when their daughter Alankrita was born, he considered moving to Manali. He eventually relocated to Bangalore with his family and landed a sales position with a reward and gifting firm with an annual salary of Rs 5.5 lakh. In 2018, he joined an ecommerce startup where he met Nitish Kalra, who was in charge of influencer marketing.

My Haul Shop was created in March 2020, around the time the statewide Covid shutdown was announced, with Amazon as its first client. They made Rs 10 crore in their first year as an Amazon Associate and currently work with over 100 businesses, including Snapdeal, Bajaj Allianz,Mamaearth, and Flipkart. Megha Bahuguna, Shivshakti Sachdev, Priyanka Khadse, Lakshay Thakurr, Vaishali Mitra, Vaibhav Keswani, Sanchit Kalra, and others are some of their well-known influences.
