Mr Srinivas was named AIIMS director on September 9, 2022, for a five-year term, or until he reaches the age of 65, according to an order submitted by the Government of India Under Secretary for Health and Family Welfare.
Dr. Srinivas’ narrative is more or less a standard one – a youngster worked hard and achieved success – but there is more to it; his story is a plot twist for many individuals.
Most of us are abandoning our original languages, leaving our origins behind. Children of the new generation converse primarily in English, and writing and reading Hindi is difficult for them.
However, the current AIIMS director received his schooling in Kannada and now holds the highest position at the All India Institutes of Medical Sciences.
Our New AIIMS Director’s Journey
The path to becoming AIIMS director was not easy; it required a great deal of attention and work. He began his path as a little lad with hopes who was eager to reach all of the world’s achievements.
As a kid, the new AIIMS director aspired to be a government servant, but he eventually acquired an interest in medicine.
Dr. Srinivas was born on August 11, 1966, in Gandhi Nagar, Yadgir, Karnataka, to Saroja and Ashappa. Before moving to Ballari to pursue his MBBS, he completed his elementary and high school education at New Kannada Government High School, as well as his pre-university course study in the city of Yadgir in Kannada medium.
Dr. Srinivas’s father, a former tahsildar, insisted on sending him to a government school and learning Kannada because he believed it would help him and his siblings grow as well-rounded individuals.
He was very focused on his children and wanted his sons to be on par with the children at private schools who followed the CBSE or other curricula.
After receiving a gold medal in his MBBS, he moved to Davangere to complete his MS and then to AIIMS in New Delhi to obtain his MCH. He was then employed as a professor in the special expert division of the paediatric surgery department. His perseverance and discipline led him to the ESIC, Medical College and Hospital in Hyderabad, where he rose to the position of Dean.
According to the Department of Health and Family Welfare, he made significant changes at ESIC, Hyderabad. The ESIC improved during his tenure, and all of the adjustments and improvements achieved under his guidance were visible to everybody.
His effectiveness at ESIC, Hyderabad, was instrumental in his appointment as AIIMS Director.
Yadgir district, where Dr. Shrinivas was born, was commonly considered as one of the most educationally deprived regions in the Kalyan Karnataka region due to low SSLC and PUC test results.
Dr. Srinivas’ extraordinary accomplishment, on the other hand, has given honor to the district and will act as incentive for future pupils. Dr. Srinivas’ career demonstrates that the only superpower required to succeed in life is dedication.

Many people are surprised by AIIMS Director Dr. Shrinivas’ success story. Growth is not limited by place, time, or things; it is only limited by willpower and drive. Government schools may produce astounding results if parents work as hard as teachers to nurture their children.
