Meet law student Nitin Kumar who built Ek Nayee Raah Foundation to educate 200 poor kids for free

Ek Nayee Raah Foundation, is catering to coaching children from poor families for free. The NGO was founded by a final-year law student, Nitin Kumar.

Nitin Kumar, from Kanpur, finished his Class 10 studies in 2007 and began delivering free education to students from the city’s slums.

The 28-year-old is now a final-year law student in charge of the Ek Nayee Raah Foundation, an NGO that runs a school at Kamleshwar Ghat beside the Ganga River, providing free education to nearly 200 children from low-income families.

Nitin’s mother struggled to make ends meet as a domestic helper, and his eldest brother dropped out of school after Class 8 to support their family of six.

Nitin was able to attend school, but his family did not have enough money to cover the fees of notebooks, pencils, pens, uniforms, or other educational expenses. He initiated evening coaching classes for individuals from government schools after realising that education may assist numerous youngsters like him reach financial independence.

Nitin, who also helps pay for youngsters’ school tuition and further education, is still looking for work and dealing with financial troubles exacerbated by the COVID-19 lockout.
