No Jadeja & Shubman Gill In Nasser Hussain’s WTC Final Playing XI

Nasser Hussain shared his combined XI for the World Test Championship final & there are just 4 Indian cricketers just like the playing XI shared by Ricky Ponting.

The Indian cricket team has reached England for playing the final of the World Test Championship against Australia which will be played at The Oval from 7 June 2023.

Some days back, the former Australian cricketer Ricky Ponting made his combined playing XI in which only 4 Indian cricketers were included by the former Aussie skipper and now the former England cricketer Nasser Hussain has come up with his combined XI and he has also included only 4 Indian cricketers.

Though the spinners performed superbly in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy as Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja took 47 wickets in combine and 36 Indian batters were sent to pavilion by the Australian spinners Nathon Lyon and Todd Murphy.  However, Nasser Hussain has included only one spinner in his combined XI and the reason that he has given is, “If the WTC final was in the sub-continent, I would have given a chance to Jadeja at the 6th spot. But he is not in my team as the match is in England.”

He further said in a media interaction, “My all-rounder would be Cameron Green as he is a pacer. My only spinner is R Ashwin, who has an exceptional batting record at the No.8 slot.”

The team also doesn’t include Shubman Gill as Rohit Sharma will be opening the innings with Usman Khawaja and the other two Indian cricketers who have been included in Nasser Hussain’s combined XI are Virat Kohli and Mohammed Shami.

Here is the Hussain’s combine XI: Rohit Sharma (c), Usman Khawaja, Marnus Labuschagne, Steve Smith, Virat Kohli, Cameron Green, Alex Carey (wk), Ravichandran Ashwin, Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc and Mohammad Shami
