Beginnings of a Hero’s Struggle
Yashasvi Jaiswal arrived in Mumbai at the age of 13 with the ambition of becoming a world-class batsman and donning the blue Indian cricket team’s shirt.
Yashasvi Jaiswal, who was born into a poor family in Uttar Pradesh, had to live with his uncle in a modest home, but he had to leave shortly after.
His father agreed to let him remain in a cow barn on the condition that he assist the milkman with his chores. Yashasvi Jaiswal didn’t have a suitable bed, food, or even a bathroom in the cow’s barn.
He had to get up early — at 5 a.m. – to assist the milkman with his task. He slept on Azad Maidan Cricket Ground since he had nowhere else to go in a new city. He began questioning himself since he had no one to advise him.
His coach made him an offer one day: if he did well, he could reside in one of the Azad Maidan Cricket Ground’s tents. Yashasvi Jaiswal worked hard and did well, thus he moved into the tent.
Yashasvi Jaiswal began selling Pani-Puris to the crowd in the ground when she ran out of money. He kept practicing and selling Pani-Puris to make ends meet and keep his ambition of playing for India alive. He took on the role of Godfather to little Yashasvi Jaiswal.
Yashasvi kept working hard and playing even harder. Yashasvi Jaiswal was picked to play for the Mumbai cricket team at the age of 17. He went on to become the youngest player in Ranji Trophy history to record a double century.
Yashasvi Jaiswal received the most expected call of his ambition after a magnificent performance, a call from the BCCI for his selection in the India Under 19 cricket squad.
He was pleased when he was first called up to the national squad. His final score was 88, 105*, 62, 57*, 29*, 59.
He went on to become the tournament’s leading run-getter. Yashasvi Jaiswal was named ‘Man of the Tournament’ for her efforts. And it is impossible to deny that he was a major reason India reached the World Cup finals. Despite the fact that India lost the final against Bangladesh. But it was evident that the Indian Cricket team’s future superstar had arrived.
Yashasvi was a foregone conclusion after his outstanding performance in the Under 19 format. And would undoubtedly be selected in the IPL auction. In the 2020 IPL Auction, he was purchased by the Rajasthan Royals for a whopping INR 2.40 crore. He went on to play 13 games for the squad and score 289 runs.
