Sowmiya Chandrasekaran and Premananth S launched the software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform Start Insights in Salem, Tamil Nadu, in 2021. It assists creators of early-stage startups with the process of locating, contacting, and pitching investors. Through its Pitch Craft service, founders may develop an effective pitch deck and receive assistance throughout the process.
Since its launch a year ago, Start Insights has produced over 40 pitch decks and assisted six entrepreneurs with raising $1.2 million in pre-seed and seed investment. The startup has a 90-day cohort and charges money for its services.
Through mentorship, individualised advice and networking opportunities, its cohort service provides a 90-day course to assist early-stage firms in growing and succeeding. Premananth battled with exposure and growth, founded two businesses, but was forced to shut them down because the time was off. Premananth made the decision to develop a solution to solve the founders’ pain concerns after speaking with startup founders at these events.
The Salem-based business Start Insights assists businesses with market research, creating a compelling pitch deck, and acquiring capital. It competes with Slidebean and Marquee Equity in this market and has two further products, Pitch Do and Start X, in development.
Start Insights secured Rs 52 lakh in a pre-seed investment round in January 2023, driven by angel investors from former employees of Microsoft, GE Digital, and other companies.
The firm has two key goals: making angel investments more accessible and digitising the process through its SaaS platform, and providing a more permanent end-to-end platform for companies.
