Sushant Gupta build his startup from a bedroom into a Rs 141 crore turnover

Most of times opportunity knocks on our door at one of the ytmost unexpected moment. For Sushant Gupta, it arrived in the form of a phone call from a friend inside the US who explained he needed to outsource some analytics similar function to an organization in India.

“I advised an expert. On the other hand his partner arrived back to me following two months and stated he was not able to finalise any offer, and suggested that I should work on this task,” states Sushant Gupta, aged 53, founder of Pune- based SG Analytics Private Limited, who begun his corporation being a lone man from his daughter’s bed room in 2007.

He had just shifted to Pune from Nagpur with his spouse and children and had sold his stakes within a previous business enterprise he had been part of and getting lifestyle quick when he acquired the phone call that modified his everyday living.

“I was free from work in those days, generally watching cricket all day,” claims Sushant, a graduate in Electrical Engineering from IIT Delhi.

Now, SG Analytics, started out by having an investment decision of Rs 15 lakh, is rated as amongst India’s top Data analytics corporations with a turnover of Rs 141 crore as well as a workforce of 900 men and women.

They may have worked for quite a few Fortune 500 companies such as UBS, Credit Suisse, and Morgan Stanley.

When Sushant began SG Analytics his two daughters had been just 12 and 7. For first 8 months he used to work from one of his daughter’s bedroom and slowly and gradually enhanced the dimensions from the team as the business grew.

“It was a very small space. Within 8 months more people joined and there have been 11 computer systems in that room and then we chose to transfer out,” recollects Sushant, reminiscing the early days of SG Analytics.


Right now, SG Analytics has its sprawling workplace with a 25,000 sq ft space at EON, IT Park (Special Economic Zone), in Kharadi, Pune. They even have offices in New York, Seattle, Austin, London, Zurich, and Hyderabad.

But Sushant has noticed quite a few ups and downs and also failures in his life ahead of achieving this placement.

Just after his graduation from IIT in 1989, he acquired to start with work at Siemens after which he joined Schlumberger, Norway, like a logging engineer. Later on, he left to join yet another corporation and by 1997, he was earning USD a 100,000 a year.

In 1999, Sushant begun with Citikey Pvt Ltd, a startup located in London, with USD 30,000 from his personal savings.


“SG Analytics turned profitable by 2010, and I was capable to gain a income of Rs one lakh per month and everyday living turned even more comfortable.” stated Sushant.
