The death rites for SP founder Mulayam Singh Yadav will be held in Saifai tomorrow, as PM Modi and Amit Shah pay respect

The 82-year told senior politician Mulayam Singh Yadav passed away, and the government of Uttar Pradesh has declared a three-day state of mourning in his honour.

Former UP CM Mulayam Singh Yadav Dies in Gurugram’s Medanta Hospital: On Monday, Mulayam Singh Yadav, the founder of the Samajwadi Party, passed away while receiving treatment at the Medanta hospital in Gurugram. He was 82. The SP patriarch was on life-saving medication and his condition had been “very severe” for a few weeks. Akhilesh, the party’s leader and Yadav’s son, tweeted a confirmation of the leader’s passing. He tweeted from the party’s official account, “Mere adarniya pitaji aur sabke netaji nahi rahe.”

Shortly after learning of the loss of SP founder Shri Mulayam Singh Yadav, Prime Minister Narendra Modi recalled his association with the veteran leader and tweeted: “Shri Mulayam Singh Yadav Ji was a terrific personality. He was admired by many for being an unpretentious, intelligent, and compassionate leader. He committed his life to advancing the ideas of Dr. Lohia and Loknayak JP while providing loyal service to the neighbourhood.

On Tuesday at around 3 p.m., Yadav will be cremated in Saifai, his home village in the Etawah district, according to the party. “Netaji’s body is being transported to Saifai. He will be cremated on October 11 at around 3 p.m., according to the Samajwadi Party. Today, Rajnath Singh, the union defence minister, will travel to Saifai to participate in the funeral rites.
