The micro-blogging site Twitter seems a little different today as blue ticks from the accounts of many sportspersons and celebs (Virat Kohli, Cristiano Ronaldo, Rohit Sharma, Amitabh Bachchan, Alia Bhatt, Deepika Padukone, etc.) are missing today.
The blue tick is a symbol which proves that the account is verified and until some time back, getting a blue tick was a status symbol because it was quite difficult to get it and a good amount of money was also needed to be spent for this purpose.
However, the new owner of Twitter, Elon Musk made some changes and he made blue tick available for everyone, it’s just that a person needs to pay $8 per month for the blue tick subscription. Some time ago, he announced that legacy blue check will be removed from the accounts on April 20 because of which the accounts of celebs and sportspersons are left without the blue tick.
