When Karan Johar Played Cupid For Abhishek Bachchan & Aishwarya Rai

Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan have long been one of Bollywood’s most beloved couples, known for their on-screen chemistry as well as their public appearances together. Interestingly, Karan Johar played a pivotal role in bringing them closer, as revealed during an earlier episode of Koffee with Karan. Abhishek credited Karan for planting the idea of pursuing Aishwarya for marriage, saying, “Karan was the cupid who kept planting the idea in my head, saying, ‘You know, she’s fantastic. You two would look so wonderful together. She looks so glamorous in the house when she walks down the staircase.’ Thank you, Karan, for all the assistance.”.

The couple tied the knot in 2007 in a grand but intimate wedding attended by close family members. They now have a daughter, Aaradhya, and have managed to keep their personal lives relatively private, only sharing glimpses on special occasions like wedding anniversaries and birthdays.

Despite their seemingly strong bond, Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek have been the subject of divorce rumors recently. Speculation grew when Aishwarya attended a red-carpet event without Abhishek in July, followed by reports that they arrived separately at a high-profile wedding earlier in the year. Further fueling the rumors, Abhishek reportedly ‘liked’ a social media post about divorce, adding to the buzz.

However, Aishwarya appeared to address these rumors in her own way. At the Paris Fashion Week, she was seen wearing her wedding ring, seemingly signaling that everything was fine between the couple. While the duo hasn’t publicly commented on the rumors, Aishwarya’s appearance with the ring has been interpreted by fans as a quiet dismissal of the divorce speculations.
