Meet Arpit Raj who quit his job to launch Rs.4cr tea chain Chaai Seth

A young entrepreneur from Delhi founded India’s fastest-growing Tea Franchise. Here’s the amazing story of Arpit Raj quit his well-paying job to launch the startup, called Chaai Seth.

Chaai Seth, India’s fastest-growing Tea Franchise, was founded by Arpit Raj, a 24-year-old Delhi entrepreneur. He is from an upper-middle-class family in Bihar. He left his well-paying job to pursue this business.

Arpit studied hospitality, travel, and tourism at the bachelor’s level. He recently completed his MBA. He resides in Delhi and has various businesses. The other firms include Wynswell Global Services, a commercial, management, and tax advice firm, and ‘A2Z Medicals.’ He is also the President of the East India Entrepreneurs Associations, a network of over 150 entrepreneurs.

Arpit founded Chaai Seth while studying for his bachelor’s degree in Shillong, Meghalaya, in 2015.

He and his friends pooled their Rs 50,000-60,000 to create a small Tea tapri. There was no mention of a brand name. It had only just begun.

He was hired by a start-up firm after finishing his studies, therefore he had to return to Delhi in 2017. He quit his job in 2019 only to return to his prior firm in Shillong.

This is how Chaai Seth was born.

He met Prateek from KPMG and a bunch of like-minded friends, including himself, and the pseudonym “Chaai Seth” was born. As a consequence, the corporation was officially established in August 2019.

When they launched the business, they were all teens, and the majority of youngsters are tea addicts. Shillong residents want clean environs. So they decided to try something new and developed the concept of late-night meal delivery, which they also provided at IIM and NIFT.

They were unsatisfied with the local food and desired to work in the culinary sector. They began with Chai since it is a beverage that draws people together. Even though they arrived from different corners of India, everyone shared tea.

Chaai Seth employs twenty-five individuals, with eight core team members. They run the business through franchise partners all around the country. They give complete help, both in terms of manpower and raw products.

The partners demand simply a budget of 7-8 lakhs and manage everything. Bractburd Food and Beverage Pvt Ltd, their parent company, specializes in coffee.

Tea, he claims, is a part of our lives or our everyday existence. He marketed many tea varietals, attracting clients’ interest and allowing them to try the distinct flavors of tea. When a new store opens, everyone receives two days of free tea.

Arpit’s primary objective is to take this business global. Also, improve the atmosphere in which people assemble. He also wants to inculcate an entrepreneurial spirit in them. Increased franchise partners will improve employment opportunities.

Chaai Seth is concerned with the social issue of unemployment. Chaai Seth provides employment opportunities for semi-literate and illiterate individuals.

Furthermore, the Kulhars in which they serve tea are purchased from Uttar Pradesh, where people sell Kulhars for as little as 50 rupees per day. So buying the Kulhars from them makes me very happy.

In 2011-22, the company’s current revenue was 3.5 – 4 crore, with a target of 12-14 crore by 2022-23. They want to rapidly expand their franchise network and become a national brand.
