Twitter CEO Parag Agrawal may get $42M if fired after Elon Musk deal

0

Elon Musk has struck a deal to acquire Twitter.Twitter CEO Parag Agrawal would receive $42 million if he will be fired after the acquisition.

On Monday, entrepreneur Elon Musk agreed to buy Twitter for $44 billion, thereby terminating the business’s existence as a public company since 2013.

According to research firm Equilar, Twitter Inc CEO Parag Agrawal would receive an estimated $42 million if he were fired within 12 months of a change in power at the social media business.

Musk expressed his lack of confidence in Twitter’s management in an April 14 securities filing.

According to an Equilar spokesman, the estimate comprises a year’s worth of Agrawal’s base pay plus accelerated vesting of all stock awards, based on Musk’s offering price of $54.20 per share and clauses in the company’s latest proxy statement.

A spokesman from Twitter declined to comment on Equilar’s assessment.

Agrawal had previously served Twitter as its chief technical officer. But, in November, he was named CEO and his overall pay for 2021 was $30.4 million, primarily in stock awards, according to Twitter’s proxy.

NEET PG 2022 Aspirants say they will have to surrender medical degrees

0

Aspirants of National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) PG 2022 want the exams to be postponed. Doctors say that they will have to surrender their medical degrees to the government.

Aspirants for the National Eligibility Cumulative Entrance Test (NEET) PG 2022 have submitted a letter to President Ram Nath Kovind requesting that the tests be postponed.

They have stated that the NEET PG counselling 2021 is not yet complete, and that the test for the next year would commence soon.

While the application forms are now available, doctors who passed the NEET PG 2021 test claim that if they wait until the NEET PG 2021 counselling is over, they will lose the opportunity to apply for the NEET PG 2022. Doctors claim they will be forced to hand over their prestigious medical degrees to the government.

They also stated in the letter that the exam bodies are harassing them and that there is no one to show empathy or compassion to them.

The NEET PG 2022 exam is set to take place on May 21. NEET PG is an entrance test for postgraduate medical education. The admission test is open to practicing doctors and recent MBBS graduates.

The letter continues, “We selected this profession to serve our country and people; little did we anticipate that we would be hounded by exam bodies like this. We are being mentally tortured by the NMC (National Medical Council) and the NBE (National Board of Examination) as a result of their mishandling.”

We are not at fault, but we are suffering as a result of the chaotic bodies such as the NMC and NBE “it went on to say

As many as 5000 interns are disqualified to take the exam because they served during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Furthermore, the National Medical Commission (NMC) requires a reasonable amount of time between one session’s counselling and the following exam. This year, though, is not one of them, as the students  say counseling will end on May 3 and the exam will be held on May 21, leaving a small gap between the two, which is “unfair.”

They also stated that the last year’s exam counselling schedule was revised seven times this year.

“According to NMC policy, there must be a sufficient space between Counselling of one session and the next examination.”

However, this year’s all-India counselling will complete on May 3, 2022, and state counselling will begin, which may last till the middle or end of the year. The exam is set for May 21, just a few days after All India Counselling concludes.

This is clearly unfair,” the letter stated, adding that NMC is “adamant” about not modifying the exam date because the academic term is set to begin in August. They also stated that postponing the exam till July will not have any impact on the academic term.

According to the letter, “Because of the insufficient time gap, we are unsure if we should attend counseling or prepare for the exam. Whatever occurs in our lives as a result of any drastic decisions made out of depression and helplessness, NMC must bear sole responsibility.”

It just developed a Master’s degree program for those with non-tech backgrounds in order to give flexible learning to working professionals. NuGenomics combines data sources to generate holistic image of your health

0

100 A Delhi-based startup uses AI/ML to prescribe lifestyle adjustments based on genetic tests. NuGenomics combines information sources from a user to provide a holistic view of current and future health.

Rahul Ranganathan pursued an MBA from XLRI Jamshedpur after earning his master’s degree in molecular biology. He subsequently spent the following seven years learning the ins and outs of business with companies such as PepsiCo and Flipkart.

Rahul says, “After seven years in the corporate sector, I realized I finally understand how business works. My initial love, though, was science and genomics. I decided it was time to bring the two together.”

In November 2019, Rahul founded Answer Genomics, a genetic research organization. Answer Genomics introduced its consumer-facing brand, NuGenomics, in July 2021, after two years of rigorous research, patents, and on-the-ground testing.

Rahul explains, “This has been a dream of mine for over eight years.”

NuGenomics is a machine learning and human genomics organization founded by Rahul and Dr Balamurali AR. The Delhi-based business combines a user’s many data points to provide a holistic picture of present and future health.

The two founders met after losing family members to cancer. Dr. Balamurali has worked at Alcovia Technologies, Samsung, and Cognizant.

He worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at France’s Laboratoire d’Informatique Fondamentale.

According to Rahul, they decided to work together to find a better method to focus on data-driven health management and use genetics to anticipate, prognose, and allow for early diagnosis.

The startup employs 20 people, including consultants and interns.

NuGenomics use patented technology to predict, prevent, diagnose, and treat lifestyle diseases by giving health-related data, insights, and actionable recommendations generated by its AI/ML system rather than a nutritionist.

To optimize both short-term and long-term health, the startup leverages nearly 5 million information points per individual to deliver individualised and actionable ideas in a micro-recommendation format.

The startup’s product offerings include the Rs 8,999 Genetic Test Report, which helps consumers identify their predispositions to cholesterol, HDL, LDL, Triglyceride, and Blood Sugar levels, as well as various other diseases to support their existing trainers and nutritionists.

Other services include a DNA-based total health check-up, a DNA-based weight loss/gain program in 111 days, a DNA-based weight gain program in 111 days, and a DNA-based holistic wellness program. The startup charges a one-time fee ranging from Rs 10,000 to Rs 18,000.

NuGenomics began saliva-based genetic tests prior to the pandemic, while the startup was conducting on-the-ground studies.

However, as the pandemic progressed, the startup shifted to blood tests.

The results of these tests provide clients with information about their macro and micronutrient requirements, food sensitivities, and intolerances, while the AI/ML-based system proposes lifestyle modifications.

Rahul explains, “When you give a nutritionist a certain set of facts and ask for recommendations, and then offer the same set of information to the system, the system is more accurate. Because, as humans, we are capable of combining 5-7 diverse data sources to create an optimum plan for the individual. However, the machine examines 5 million data points.”

Pankaj Mahajan became international football coach after quitting alcohol

0

Pankaj Mahajan, an international football coach, was once addicted to alcohol. His story has a strong motivational message for people who want to quit alcohol.

Pankaj Mahajan, of Maharashtra, was 17- year-old when he cried uncontrollably as he saw blood coming out from his mother’s head. He sat useless instead of contacting an ambulance due to his inebriation.

Pankaj, who is not become an international football coach, says, “Had it not been for my neighbors, my mother would have died in front of my eyes, all because I had been drinking since the morning. During an altercation, my father beat her on the head with a rod, and there was nothing I could do to defend her. That encounter altered the course of my life.”

He became addicted to alcohol and tobacco in Class 4 as a resident of Maharashtra’s Godhani village, and the lack of parental guidance further exacerbated the situation.

Pankaj dropped out of school to earn a living since his father was an alcoholic and his mother was disabled.

He didn’t envision a future for himself until his mother suffered a serious injury in 2011.

Pankaj’s father had a little shop that sold everyday products such as tobacco. After witnessing his father and other village elders proudly chew tobacco, a young Pankaj believed it would be ‘cool’ to follow in their footsteps.

When no one was around, Pankaj tasted beedi (mini-cigar loaded with tobacco flake) while working at the business one day.  He hid the beedi and took another drag the next day. He had devoured an entire packet before he realized it.

“The unfortunate thing was that my father once discovered me smoking and turned a blind eye. He didn’t stop me, nor did my mother. This made me think that beedi wasn’t such a bad thing. Alcohol soon entered the picture,” Pankaj says.

Parents in the village began to advise their children to stay away from Pankaj. He found himself beating an autorickshaw driver one day.

If his social life was harmed, his health and finances were not far behind. He continues, “I couldn’t run and was exhausted all the time.”

Pankaj sought more booze and cigarettes to avoid the beatings. It had been a vicious cycle until Slum Soccer NGO stepped in.

The NGO, founded by Vijay Barse, works with homeless children to empower them via football. The NGO learned of Pankaj’s plight from the villagers and decided to step in.

He was given free football training and a little stipend, and he was able to return to school.

He didn’t feel the need to smoke a beedi or binge drink every time he stepped onto the pitch.

Receiving instruction in sports and lifestyle habits was also a first. Pankaj, on the other hand, mistook this for an attempt by the NGO to separate him from the things that gave him consolation.  He withdrew from the program.

But, an incident in 2011 compelled him to re-enlist.

“Along with the game’s clever strategies, I was learning about gender equality, health, kindness, sympathy, education, and other topics. It was unquestionably a crash course in life.”

Pankaj’s dedication and focus paid off, as he quickly found himself playing at the state and national levels.

In 2013, he travelled to Poland to compete in the Homeless World Cup for the first time. He was the team’s captain.

His father felt proud of him for the first time when he was featured in various regional publications. The villagers who had formerly shunned him were now screaming his praises.

People looked up to me, especially children.

Pankaj says, “I wanted to help kids like me who were going through a family catastrophe. I enrolled in numerous NGO programs for leadership and coaching possibilities. I also finished my bachelor’s degree in physical education.”

His father made efforts to repair their relationship and even recognized that his lifestyle choices were problematic.

Pankaj, as a coach, has also propagated social messages among the girls in 25 villages as part of the ‘Shakti Girls’ project. He uses football workouts and tactics to teach the girls about menstrual hygiene, education, gender equality, and other topics that he only learned a few years ago.

“They also learn life skills such as problem-solving, decision-making, open communication, and cooperation,” Pankaj adds.

He is also studying sign language in order to train hearing-impaired coaches who would then teach deaf children.

Pankaj is now the project manager for Slum Soccer and is in charge of their social media pages.

“There was a period when my English was really weak, but I’m learning a lot owing to this job,” he says.

Pankaj has come a long way from battling addiction to now making a difference in the lives of other youngsters.

He is now a Bachelor of Arts student of Indira Gandhi National Open University and will attempt to write the paper in English for the first time.

“I planned, worked hard, and stayed focused on my goals,” he continues.
