Sangeeta joined grape farming after the death of her husband. She faced many difficulties with a loan of 30 lacks. She earns 40 lacks every year.

Grape farming business

Sangeeta Boraste is a grape farmer from Niphad taluka, Nashik. But when she handled the business of farming there was a 30 lakh loan on the business. Her late husband took this loan to run the business but when there was time to harvest the crops, he passed away. In the critical situation, to deal with the financial crisis Sangeeta Boraste had to take care of everything. She decided to join the business of grape farming and take good care of it.

Her story started years ago when she was just fifteen and got married to Arun. She moved to Niphad. This particular region is well famous for grape cultivation. But life was not so easy for her. She states that due to some disputes in the family, her family was divided in 1991 and her husband received 10 acres of ancestral cultivation land after the division of her family. Here the struggle of the couple started with the grape farming business.

Starting a business of grape farming

Arun used to work in the bank but he has to quit is a job to learn farming from scratch and take care of the land which was famous for the cultivation of the grape vineyards. Cultivation and farming are not that easy and at the start, they have to face the loss. Indeed, they have to sell the 2.5 acres of the land to repay the loan amount as Sangeeta told. They did this to continue with the grape farming business.

A tragic turn in life

Years after struggle a good time was about to come and fresh plantation of the grape about to bear the fruit. This could help them a lot and resolve the issue of financial loss. But fate was something else and they were about to see the darkest phase of life. Her husband passed away before the harvest season and there was a question of survival for them. They started thinking about the three daughters and one son who was the sole responsibility of the Sangeeta now. Only seven acres of the land as left for grape farming but there was a pending loan of 30 lakh as well.

Take care of business

She had not to option left than taking everything in her hand and she jumped into the business of her husband. Now she was there in the field with the labor but with no basic knowledge about farming. She started working and she recalls now that she struggle really hard and started learning everything related to grape farming. One Diwali night she was stuck in the field with the tractor and spent hours there.

In the starting, there were many family members and friends to help her out but after a certain point of time, only her younger son and nephew were there to help her out in the grape farming. Gradually they worked hard and tried their best to improve the situation.

Weather is a challenge too

Grapevines are very sensitive and thus high level of care is required. She mentioned that during the year she faces great weather challenges. From drought to heavy storms she faced everything. She also mentioned that sometimes she had to stay on the farm to keep the grapevines warm with a bonfire.  All these things related to grape farming were quite challenging for her. She took the help from Sahyadri Farms to sell her grapes in the international market as well. She worked hard and improved the quality of the grapes to make sure that her harvest gets export clearance. Now she has paid her debt with the income and early forty lakh Indian rupees every year with it.

Few Things to Keep in Mind for your Startup Business

0

A successful business startup is the one where you should know a few things to keep in mind for your startup business. One must go through different ideas for a startup.

It’s 2020, and most of us want to have our own identity, our own finances, and we also live in a Startup. Most of you might think of doing a business startup, where you would own a startup business, and you will be the boss. Most of you might have ideas for that too. Some ideas might be decent and reliable, but some are not too good. Also, businesses are an essential component of any economy.

Sometimes, there’s a great difference between creating a successful startup business and having a great idea for it. Ideas not always work. Don’t get me wrong- I’m not trying to demotivate you, but it’s not an easy job, you must have the patience for that. You have to face a lot of things and must give your dedication, hard work, some sleepless nights, and even have to face some failures but never give up.

You must be wondering about countless things before your startup, but you must have a look and keep in mind a few things before your startup that I’ve narrowed down below.

• Be sure and do proper research about the industry

One of the most important things before placing your ideas for a startup is to think and have knowledge about the industry you are planning to get in. Researching before getting in is crucial for a successful business. Also, just by working a few years in the industry, you must not claim you know it very well. A deep understanding of the industry is important, and you must do careful research based on market data. It is an industry that has good growth potential, and knowing about it above the head will be a great step to success. Also, while researching, you must ensure by keeping things in prospect to your sector, the profitability, and growth.

• Know your competitors

Based on your sector or your products, you must do slight research about your competitors. You must know what are their top ideas, what are their offerings, and their position in the business field. If you keep having this knowledge, you will have an idea of your strengths and weaknesses. Whatever competition it is, knowing your enemy is as important as knowing your strength. Also, if you can’t get the proper information from the sources, you can also visit their stores and study the products they offer and the type of customers they serve. After knowing their strengths, you must be a little worried, but after you calm yourself down you will be able to use your strength against it. Giving a strong competition to your opponent is what you need to do.

Secure funding

Funding is one of the most important factors before starting any business. Nothing is possible without funding in this industry, and if you don’t have your own fund, you must look and take help from other sources. It is important to arrange proper funding for your business and must keep ready for the possibility of fall-back too. Actually, most people think it’s an easy job to start a business having top business ideas, but it costs more than people usually think. So, you must proceed carefully and the funds you are getting from must be secured and reliable.

• Good website and active presence on social media

So, it has become a necessity for all the business personalities for having a good website for their company in this modern era. We are all dependent upon websites and social media, so it’s a great step to make your products reach to maximum people through social media. Also, creating a website will be the cheapest of all and also the most efficient one. But you must make sure to start your website on a healthy platform. These days it isn’t hard to open such websites.

• Prepare for everything

Always try to solve the problems, never create one. Sometimes we can’t have everything that we want, and things go out of our hands, specifically in the business field. You must be prepared for every consequence you are going to face after starting your business. You must be ready to be poor again. Startup Business is just like a wave, sometimes you will find yourself at the top, sometimes below.

5 MISTAKES THAT EVERY ENTREPRENEUR DOES

0

There are certain things that should be kept in mind if one is willing to be an entrepreneur. We are listing some of the basic mistakes done by entrepreneurs.

There are certain things that should be kept in mind if one is willing to be an entrepreneur. We are listing some of the basic mistakes done by entrepreneurs.

1. IGNORING DELEGATION OF WORK

Many new entrepreneurs are filled with ambition and want to execute every plan personally to get the best results but still make entrepreneurship mistakes. We have our fields of expertise while there are some aspects which can’t be done by us. Concentrating our skills on the work we can manage and delegating the other to the right expertise can make work faster and more efficient. Outsourcing is really important for business since it is a community where we grow each other.

By trusting the right people and letting them take care of certain jobs will make work easier. When we try to do everything ourselves, the quality of work degrades. Human resource management is a pivotal responsibility of entrepreneurs. So trust others and your judgment about their skills and let the job be done precisely. Moreover, the more people have involved, the more new aspects, and ideas can be accumulated.

2. NOT MAKING CLEAR GOALS WITHIN A PERIOD

It is really important to make goals for every entrepreneur. Even though we make a goal, we forget to demarcate the period we desire to achieve it. Entrepreneurs need to be specific about the goals they want to reach by adding an average time they think they will need to achieve it. Like if they want to open a franchise in 2 years. Or maybe crack a deal with a certain brand in 8 months. The period keeps your enthusiasm high. Like in the example above, you won’t lose inspiration or hope easily before 2 years because you estimate that in advance only.

3. ONLY THINKING ABOUT MONETARY PROFIT

Successful entrepreneurship can’t be decided on how much money you earn; it’s also about how much you develop and return to the community. It’s about how much goodwill you have from the people who interact with you. It is also about how satisfactory your service is. It is a grim mistake to only care about monetary benefit since trust is the foundation of entrepreneurs’ success. The profit you desire should not be momentary; it should last for long and develop you in all spheres. Overworking your human resource for the sake of monetary profit is wrong. To get the best efforts from your team, make sure to understand what other benefits you can reap with empathy and passion.

4. NOT UTILIZING SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORMS

The world is changing; the platform to access the maximum audience has changed. Many old school entrepreneurs do not realize how much their business can thrive, even if it’s based on the online portal. The technological renaissance that is taking place is defying the stereotypes of today’s world. It is time that social media is utilized as an advanced marketing opportunity and a new base of customer interaction. You can’t bring millions of people to your company at the same time to introduce them to the services you provide, but with a single tap in social media, people can reach out to innumerable people instantly. Then why corner it only for posting what is going in your life? Why not use it as a media platform which can bring dynamism to your entrepreneurship.

5. NOT TAKING FEEDBACKS SERIOUSLY

Feedbacks are an essential part of your service delivery. Taking feedback seriously here does not mean succumbing to hate spread by others and being scared to uphold the company’s uniqueness. Here feedbacks can even involve constructive criticism or appreciation to avoid mistakes entrepreneurs make. Never hesitate to evolve your business and making it a better version of itself while upholding its originality.

Feedbacks are the responses of the world after you present your entrepreneurship, so it is very important to go through all of it and taking it seriously. Contemplating upgrading yourself and running with the changing world is essential. Apart from this, we all need appreciation for the work we do. Spending a bit of time looking at your success can serve as an inspiration to work harder.

0

Jaydev Yadav from Mumbai and Adv. Sachin Kumar Pingale from Alibag traveled to seven states of India seeding the seeds for green India. They have done this journey HORN OK BEEj which is one of its kind.

You must have seen many travel bloggers who are traveling to different parts of the world. But have you heard that someone especially traveling to make the GREEN INDIA and give a new message to the coming generations?

Mr. Jaydev Yadav from Mumbai and Adv. Sachin Kumar Pingale from Alibag has done their seven state journey Horn Ok Beej, for green India. Now their efforts are also recognized by the forest department with the certification of appreciation. Latest find out, how and where did they start and what they did to make mother earth look beautifully clean and green.

We heard in the news daily that clean air level is decreasing and pollution is increasing at a drastic rate. The major reason is deforestation and cutting down of trees for commercial and other purposes. Many people do pomp and show when they plant a single sapling. Afterward, they forget about it and nobody cares. But Jaydev and Sachin have made it quite interesting and connected all Indians in their green India journey, Horn Ke Beej.

Where did the journey start?

The journey started with the initiative of Mr. Sachin Kumar Pingale who is an advocate in Alibag. He is working in the High court. He originally came with a plan to start a travel vlog to make sure that people get knowledge about the tree plantation. They started it so that they can spread some seeds in the various parts of India to make to more green. They both get connected and started working on this particular plan in march 2020. But due to covid-19, entire India was locked down and they have to postpone their idea of working in the same direction.

Deciding about the journey

Financially Jadev and machine started working again on their plan in the month of sep when permission was given to the general public for crossing the states. Earlier it was banned and one has to obtain special permission to do so. Now they were thinking about the starting point.

For this, they started searching on the google search engine and came to know that the government of India measure the geographical situation of India on a horizontal basis for Koteshwar. This lies in the Gujrat and this stuck their mind. They decided to start their journey from there. However, it is a small village at the horizontal end of India. East part of India has its end in the Arunachal Pardesh, Teju village.

Travel and seeding

Both friends made their mind to travel this part of India to start their journey with lots of seed for the plantation in the way and make India a greener place. During the journey to both shores of India, they have gone through seven Indian states which include Gujarat, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, UP, Bihar, West Bengal, Assam & Arunachal Pradesh. They are seeding the seeds in their journey and make vlogs to make people aware of the importance of greenery.

Green India message

The duo says that it is the right time to think about it. If we will keep ignoring it, we may have to buy the oxygen from the market to breathe as if we do buy masks now in a pandemic. They further add that this era may end soon but pollution will not and we have to make constant efforts to give clean air to our coming generation. The trip was not sponsored and they were working on their own.

Raghuveer Singh grows 9000 pomegranate crops in the desert.

0

Raghuveer Singh is a Rajasthani farmer and he is earning lakhs by growing pomegranates in Desert storms. He grows 9000 Pomegranate crops.

Jaisalmer in Rajasthan is well known for its deserted area. Some part of this area belongs to the Sahara Desert and the climate is extremely hot. Cultivation of pomegranate crops is a crucial task here and getting harvest from the well-known crops is also very challenging because of the lowest precipitation annually.

Thinking out of the box

You will not believe the fact that Raghuveer is earning well through farming of pomegranate crops in the most deserted area in India. He has grown more than nine thousand pomegranates in the land where the water crisis is very common and it is the biggest challenge for non-conventional crop cultivation. Now you must be wondering that how he has made this task successful. Well, things are very simple and advance at the same time.

Challenges from nature

He states the fact that when he told about the idea of growing pomegranate crops to other people did not encourage him from going out of line and growing non-conventional crops there. This is so because the annual rate of precipitation is very low. They work with the groundwater only which is also very low and the quality of the water is not good.

Apart from this, many issues are there. Jaisalmer falls in the Western Rajasthan part of India. This receives very low rainfall and experiences extreme weather conditions. The temperature in the hot summers can be around fifty degrees Celsius. In this scorching heat, it is very hard to do any sort of agricultural activity.

Conventional crops – low profit

Farmers of this area only grow crops, which are perfect for the hot weather conditions and do not require much water. But they could earn very less profit because of these low valuable crops like cumin, mustard, and groundnut. But Raghuveer came with the idea of growing of Pomegranate crops and earning huge profit with it.

Taking inspiration

Raghuveer is a 33-year-old farmer and he took the inspiration from the neighborhood city Barmer. The weather conditions are also adverse there but still, he saw that some people are growing the pomegranate there successfully without any complication. He also decided to grow the same in his land using mulching and various other irrigation techniques.

Diverse crops to earn more

After successfully planting the pomegranate he also took the initiative to plant cotton. He faced a great problem in the starting because nobody in a radius of a hundred km was cultivating pomegranate. He decided to take the saplings from Maharastra. He states that people also give them paid services and help them to maintain everything in the right manner for growing pomegranate crops.

Natural protection methods

To protect the crops from the storm he grew some trees that are famous in the area for bearing the fast sand storms. They also helped him to protect the crops from being damaged. He also planted the NEEM and thorny shrubs, which can grow easily there and work as a shield for his pomegranate crops. He used natural fencing to protect the crops.

Making a huge profit

It took nearly four years to take his first harvest pomegranate crops from the land. He made nearly 11 lacks of business with the help of 4000 pomegranates and out of which he was able to earn nearly 7.5 lakhs as his first profit. Now he has nearly 9300 plants of pomegranate and they are getting ready for the next harvesting. He hopes to make a big profit with the help of these plants. He is also earning nearly seven lakhs of profit from cotton cultivation.

Bumper earnings

Now he says that people were not expecting this much success from my pomegranate crops cultivation. He is making a big profit now from the land where people claim that nothing could grow. Local people are surprised by his bumper earnings from agriculture.

The letter bore a name ‘Biden from Mumbai’, then known as Bombay, and the gentleman congratulated Biden on being elected as senator from the state of Delaware and notified him that they both were associated to each other.

The new U.S President Joe Biden was then 29 and was astonished to know more about the so-called Biden from Mumbai. But due to his active political life and family engagements, he was unable to follow up on the letter and get in touch with that ‘Biden’. His wish remained a wish.  Even after five decades, he still wants to fulfil this wish.

Whenever the 77-year-old Joe Biden gets a chance, especially interacting with the Indian -American community and Indian Diaspora, he never fails to narrate the ‘Biden from Mumbai’ story.

The letter spoke about how in the era of 1700s, their mutual, great, great, great, grandfather or something worked for the East India Trading Company and came to Mumbai.

He also joked about how this relationship makes him eligible for fighting election even in India. The audience of Mumbai burst into laughter hearing his sense of humour. It was at the above event that Joe Biden, a day after a journalist gave him the list of all Bidens residing in Mumbai.

U.S President Joe Biden again said in his address to the US India Business Council on September 21, 2015, “ The gentleman Biden from Mumbai also wrote about that their great great great grandfather arrived in Mumbai in 1848 as British Captain in the East India Tea Company, and believed to have married an Indian woman, this settling in India thereafter.

He went on saying that people there in Mumbai might have thought that he is making this up because he never followed or took any step find the Biden from Mumbai. But a reporter stood up and gave him the names of nearly five Bidens in Mumbai.

“So, show me more respect,” the present U.S President Joe Biden had then has clarified the Washington DC audience while contending his Indian connection.

In 2015, Biden further confessed to the audience that he may have in a way embarrassed the Bidens in Mumbai. According to U.S President Joe Biden, the real point in this story is that the world is very small and how this global economy is fitted for, the two largest democracies in the world.

The U.S President Joe Biden from the Democratic Party is yet to make a meeting with them even after that and regret the same.
