Why Parle-G is not increasing its price despite inflation

0

Instead of increasing prices, Parle-G gradually and progressively reduced the amount of the portion while keeping the illusion of a little packet over time.

To some, Parle-G is a brand of easily accessible and inexpensive packets of biscuits; to others, it is a feeling. Saptarshi Prakash, Swiggy’s Director of Design, recently gave some thoughts on how Parle-G is still accessible for Rs 5 after surviving for 25 years without changing its pricing.

Prakash posted about it on LinkedIn, “The price of a small packet of Parle-G was Rs 4 in 1994, and it remained that way until 2021, when it was raised by a rupee. A small package now costs Rs 5. Have you ever pondered how it is even possible?. In addition to various operational optimizations, Parle used an extraordinary psychological hack to accomplish this honour.”

He elaborated on the hack, saying, “What comes to mind when I say “tiny packet”? A package that fits in your hand and contains a handful of biscuits? The majority of us would see it that way, and Parle was well aware of it.”

As a result, rather than raising costs, they gradually and steadily reduced the amount of the piece over time, while keeping the illusion of a little packet.

Prakash explained, “It started with a chunk of 100 gm, then 92.5 gm, then 88 gm, and now the tiny package that costs Rs 5 weighs 55 grammes, which is a solid 45 percent reduction from what they started with in 1994.”

Here’s how Fitness Coach Anirudh Deepak lost 110 KG without drastic diets

0

Anirudh Deepak who was told he was ‘a ticking time bomb’ went from weighing 194 kg to 83 kg. Here’s how the 28-year-old achieved the feat.

When Chennai-based MBBS graduate Dr Anirudh Deepak was hospitalised for pneumonia in 2018, physicians told him he had five years to live. They described him as a “ticking time bomb” after that.

Because he was overweight, there was no certainty that any doctor could treat him. In the two years that followed, the 28-year-old lost nearly 100 kg, dropping from 194 kg to 83 kg.

He now works part-time as a fitness instructor, advising people on how to live a healthy lifestyle. Anirudh had been slowly gaining weight for some time, and everyone around him had been encouraging him to do something about it to be a beam of hope for individuals.

Anirudh had to deal with the stigma of being overweight in a society that criticises people based on their physical features and generally normalises fatphobia.

He says, “Even as a child, I was mocked by my classmates and by those who were supposed to protect me in the first place. Being overweight can cause a variety of medical problems in addition to lethargy and exhaustion. Sedentism and obesity are to blame for all of your lifestyle diseases.”

Diabetes and hypertension are also examples of lifestyle illnesses. While being overweight is usually associated with low self-esteem, Anirudh was not one of them.”

So, after his wake-up call at the hospital, he resolved to make a lifestyle change.

He claims, “I am a firm believer that no matter what other people tell you, until it comes from inside you, you will not change. You intend to do something about it. I realised I needed to assess my life for the sake of future myself.”

He then began working out and researching other fad diets on the internet.

Nothing changed for over six months. He hadn’t stepped on a weighing machine yet, but his clothing still fit the same, and he could tell there was no difference.

He says, “I was at a loss for words and had given up on myself. And I was just one step away from having bariatric (weight loss) surgery.” As he continued to work out and try new things, he came across the Fittr platform and met his coach, Vinodh Vaitheeswaran, through a friend. And I weighed 194.5 kg.”

Over the next two years, he shed a little more than 110 kg in what was undoubtedly a difficult struggle.

Instead of adhering to a rigorous diet or limits, his guiding idea was portion management.

There is no such thing as good or poor food; it’s all about measuring and eating the appropriate stuff. In today’s culture, the word diet has been demonised, yet the entire diet and fitness regimen must be part of your lifestyle.

Anirudh’s breakfast diet comprised poha or upma, fruits and dried fruits for snacks, roti or rice with dal, vegetables, and curd for lunch, and roti or rice with paneer and vegetables for supper. His plan comprised every dietary category, including jams and cheese, and it was all quantifiable.

Instead of eliminating particular meals, the goal is to simply generate a calorie deficit, which will result in weight reduction. Because everyone is different, it was critical to determine what works well for him and benefits his health.

Rather than limiting and occasionally indulging in cheat meals, they concentrated on regulating portion sizes based on the components and calories in each dish.

There is no precise diet plan for losing weight. It all comes down to our input vs output and how much your body need to burn out. Because one suit does not fit everyone. It must be customised for each individual. Similarly, your diet and training routine must be tailored to your specific needs. He began with weight training five to six days a week, gradually increasing to add cardio. All of them burn calories, but weight training helps you keep your muscle mass.”

Weight reduction is frequently a difficult path since it requires considerable behavioural and lifestyle adjustments.

Anirudh says, “Motivation, I suppose, gets you started. However, consistency is essential. It reminds me of a woodpecker at work. It’s about maintaining consistency throughout time. It’s a marathon, not a sprint.”

It is only by being consistent and sticking to lifestyle modifications that one may keep the weight off once it has been lost.

“It’s all about doing the right things and making them a habit. You can’t go back to your previous self.”

Anirudh is now completing his postgraduate studies while working as a fitness coach.

He says, “I want to be a beacon of hope for people, which is why I decided to become a fitness instructor.”

Why is Google worried about ChatGPT?

0

Google, the “search engine,” is much more than just a search engine now that it has become the point of access for many individuals to the internet. However, as artificial intelligence takes over the world, the most widely used search engine appears to be frightened. Al is causing concern among both humans and Google, who, according to a report by The New York Times, has supposedly issued a “red code” about the Al chatbot, ChatGPT.

Since its founding in 1998, Google, which at the time was merely a search engine, has taken a sizable portion of users away from other search engines, such as Yahoo, AOL, Bing, and more, as these could not keep up with the sophistication of Google search. According to the report, Google now worries that artificial intelligence will have the same effect on their search engine.

All was OK at Google up until three weeks ago, when OpenAl, an Al research organization, released their chatbot, the ChatGPT, to the public as “an experiment,” which later gained popularity for its original responses.

Since then, it has been suggested that if one can simply converse with Al and have the answer provided to them, why would anyone even use Google to search through a dozen links in search of the answer?

Leave ChatGPT, there is also DALL-E, once more of OpenAl, that can render graphics based on word prompts, and the results have stunned the world. According to analysts, Google should be concerned about more than just ChatGPT because numerous other research organizations and small businesses are developing comparable technology that is expected to displace the traditional methods of searching the internet.

Google has a very sharp tooth for Al

These “artificial intelligence” items are not absent from Google; rather, their release to the general public has been delayed. The LaMDA, Google’s chatbot, which was unveiled last year, attracted a lot of attention, in part because a Google employee declared it sentient and in part because it demonstrated how far technology had advanced.
Google has the tools necessary to defeat ChatGPT. But why doesn’t it put it into practice? According to a Google executive and voice notes obtained by the New York Times, there are some fundamental problems, particularly with how the machine learning model functions and Google’s revenue model.

India beats Sri Lanka by 317 runs; records ODI history’s biggest-ever win

0

On Sunday, Jan 15, India beat Sri Lanka by a record 317 runs to win the three-match series 3-0.

Virat Kohli lit up the dead rubber with an amazing 166 not out, his third century in four innings, as India destroyed a naive Sri Lanka with a record 317-run triumph in the third One-Day International here on Sunday to sweep the series.

Skipper Rohit Sharma (42 off 49) and Shubman Gill (116 off 97) put on a 95-run opening stand before Kohli (166 not out off 110) powered India to 390 for five with his 74th international century and 46th in the 50-over format.

Sri Lanka were defeated by Mohammad Siraj’s high-quality fast bowling, which struck four times in the first ten overs to put an end to the resistance.

Sri Lanka were all out for 73 in 22 overs, emphasising the disparity between the two squads. It is the largest margin of victory by runs in men’s ODI history.

The night belonged entirely to King Kohli. Last year, the 34-year-old ended an almost three-year wait for an international hundred at the Asia Cup, demonstrating that he is back to his best. This lowered the amount of money in circulation, which flowed down into private markets. When compared to subsequent rounds, early-stage trades escaped untouched.”

She also stated that plans for the forthcoming Budget are likely to stimulate abroad investments among Indian entrepreneurs, allowing them to really develop from India, for the whole globe.

“Venture capital in 2023 might best be defined as cautiously hopeful,” said Jatin Desai, co-founder and managing partner of Inflexor Ventures.

Following a turbulent 2022, more investors are hoping to return to the private markets with huge sums of cash ready to be put in the venture capital arena.

Instead of high-growth, cash-guzzling start-ups, investors are increasingly looking for more sustainable company models with robust foundations.” Kohli is now only three centuries away from matching Sachin Tendulkar’s record of 49 ODI hundreds.

Kohli’s conversion ratio is exceptional, as he reached his 46th century in 259 innings, whereas Tendulkar needed 452 innings to get 49 centuries.

Gill had produced several high-quality strokes on his way to his second ODI century before Kohli took over.

With that effort, he returned the team’s management’s trust in him, who had chosen him to open ahead of Ishan Kishan, who came into the series with a double hundred.

Lahiru Kumara’s 23-run over in the first part of the game got India humming. Gill got four straight boundaries from Kumara, three on the off side and one off a full delivery, after Rohit flicked him for a six over deep midwicket.

On the other end, Rohit was also looking fantastic, but he was called out against the course of play while attempting one of his hallmark shots, the front foot pull.

Gill and Kohli then put up a 131-run stand, little bothered by the Sri Lankan spinners. Kohli started the innings with a flurry of boundaries before amassing runs with his exceptional running between the wickets.

His first of eight sixes occurred in the 1980s, and it was a mishit over long on that made him laugh. He reached 99 after colliding with Ashen Bandara and Jeffrey Vandersay, who were both sprinting towards the ball from deep square leg and deep midwicket, respectively. Both fielders had to be stretchered off the field.

India scored 116 runs in the final ten overs, with Kohli going ballistic following his century. Following the milestone, it was showering sixes from his bat, and one over long on had overtones of MS Dhoni’s helicopter shot, leaving Kohli with a wide smile.

The majority of his maximums came from the cow corner area. Sri Lanka never really showed up in the chase after India’s massive score. In the second over of the game, Siraj had Avishka Fernando caught at widish slip. Following that, it was a parade, with Siraj running through the top order.

Mohammad Shami and Kuldeep Yadav each claimed two wickets.

‘Kaapa’ star Prithviraj saddened by ‘Pathaan’ controversy

0

The uproar around the ‘Pathaan’ song, according to actor Prithviraj, is terrible. Besharam Rang, a song featuring Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone, sparked outrage as right-wing activists and political figures criticised Deepika’s outfit.

The controversy surrounding the ‘Pathaan’ song, according to actor Prithviraj, who will be seen in the next film ‘Kaapa,’ is regrettable. The actor noted that it was unfortunate that an art form had received such harsh criticism.

The song ‘Besharam Rang,’ featuring Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone, sparked outrage as right-wing activists and political figures criticised Deepika’s clothing in the video.

The colour of Deepika’s bikini nearly became a national issue, with protesters burning effigies of both Shah Rukh Khan and the actress.

Meanwhile, Prithviraj, who attended the ‘Kaapa‘ news conference, seemed to be unaware of the contentious remarks made by Kerala Chalachithra Academy Chairman Renjith at the IFFK site.

Aparna Balamurali, who was present at the press conference, expressed her delight at being considered for a role in the film, which was initially designed with Manju Warrier in mind.

She stated, “That was a total fangirl moment. Manju chechi was unable to take up this duty due to unforeseen circumstances. But I am pleased and delighted to say that I was considered for the part after that.”

Dileesh Pothan, who will play an important part in the film, stated that he has always wanted to work with a great filmmaker like Shaji Kailas.

He stated,  “Shaji Kailas first approached me for Kaduva, but I was unable to collaborate on the film owing to prior obligations. I chose Kaapa because I wanted to know how Shaji Kailas operates.”

Start the day with these 5 steps for big changes in your personality

0

When the alarm wakes us up in the morning, we want to sleep ‘just 5 more minutes’ but those 5 minutes take us further away from the goal. If you also start the day like this, then we have selected some special things for you from the routine of successful people.

We all start to improve our life. It is common to think every other day that from tomorrow we will eat healthy food, from tomorrow we will start exercising, from tomorrow we will do the whole day’s work by planning….but when tomorrow comes and the alarm starts reminding us of all those things. Just 5 more minutes‘ often ruins all your planning.

When the alarm wakes us up in the morning, we want to sleep ‘just 5 more minutes’ but those 5 minutes take us further away from the goal. Or we wake up but spend the relaxing time of the morning scrolling through the phone and then a hectic day begins, which becomes tiresome by the end. If you also start the day like this, then we have selected some special things for you from the routine of successful people.

1. Planning for the next day at night: This is the first and most important step for a better start to the day. If you want to start the day better and avoid a hectic schedule, then it is important to plan the next day’s tasks once before sleeping at night. In this, there can be a list of clothes to wear in the morning, from breakfast to the day’s work. These tasks will not be so heavy for the night, but if they are done during the day, they can waste a lot of your morning energy.

2. Enjoy the Serenity: What’s it like to sink into the stillness before rushing off at the speed of a horse? This is a very special way to keep your brain healthy. Beginning of the morning is not only to start the work early, but also to absorb the peace of the morning. In this time, you can remember the good things or think about the better things of the previous day or keep silent and look out of the window and feel yourself being in the lap of nature.

3. Workout is necessary: We do not give much importance to exercise in the morning, but if we take out even 10 minutes for this, it can be of great benefit. Even for just 10 minutes, if we do such a thing that the hormone called endorphin can be pumped, then you will be able to feel positive changes inside yourself.

4. Pay attention to difficult work: After spending time in peace and workout, you must be feeling full of energy. Now take a look at that work of the day or do planning which you are finding most difficult or you are constantly postponing it. Tackling even the most difficult task will give you peace and confidence. Treat the elephant in the room phrase is used for such work in English.

5. Eat Right: Waking up in the morning is not just about doing workouts and getting busy in work. Rather, eating right in the morning is also very important. The cleansing process goes on in the body throughout the night and it gets faster after morning workout. In such a situation, acid is formed in the body. After this, there is also a feeling of hunger in the morning, but at this time it is necessary to have a full breakfast and use the right food and drink. Which will keep you energetic all day long.

Here’s why Bombay HC ordered Rapido to stop operating in Maharashtra immediately

0

A court has directed  Rapido to stop operating in Maharashtra, with immediate effect. The bike taxi aggregator was asked to do so due to the fact that it does not have a license

Rapido, a bike taxi aggregator, has been ordered by the Bombay High Court to cease operations in Maharashtra immediately because it lacks a licence to provide bike taxi or rickshaw services.

Following this, Rapido agreed to suspend all of its services in Maharashtra, including bike taxis, rickshaws, and food delivery, until January 20, 2023. Rapido told the court that the app is no longer available in the state.

A division bench of Justices Gautam Patel and S G Dige told the Pune-based cab aggregator to either immediately cease its bike taxi services or the court would have to give directives to the state authorities exempting the firm from obtaining any licence. The bench stated that the corporation cannot operate its services in an uncontrolled way in the absence of a licence.

Roppen Transportation Services Private Limited filed a court petition in response to a letter made by the state government on December 29, 2022, refusing to award it a bike taxi aggregator licence.

In its letter, the state administration stated that there was no state policy on licencing of bike taxis and no pricing structure regulation. The corporation promised to cease its operations until January 20, when the court would hear the case again.

Advocate General Birendra Saraf informed the court that the company’s case should be heard only after they had ceased operations. .

He added, “They can’t appear to this court while operating unlawfully.”

Saraf went on to say that the government has created a committee to investigate the matter and consider developing standards for bike taxis.

Advocate General Saraf stated, “We are also in the process of imposing prohibitions and launching prosecutions against organisations operating unlicensed bike taxis.”

Shark Tank India’s Ashneer Grover reveals why he bought MS Dhoni’s Mercedes GLS car

0

Ashneer Grover, the co-founder of Bharat Pe, rose to prominence after competing as a judge or “shark” on the first season of Shark Tank India. In this article he has revealed he bought MS Dhoni’s Mercedes GLS as he was fascinated with sports cars

Since his appearance as a shark on Shark Tank India season 1, the world has become accustomed to entrepreneur Ashneer Grover’s willingness to voice his mind. From offering advise to discussing his own experiences, Ashneer has never been afraid to speak his mind. That being said, Ashneer recently revealed his love of sports vehicles in a recent chat.

He also mentioned Zomato founder and CEO Deepinder Goyal and Blinkit’s Albinder Dhindsa’s fondness of fancy automobiles.

The former co-founder and general director of the Indian fintech business BharatPe, Vagerah Vagerah, disclosed on the podcast Vagerah Vagerah how Zomato founder and Blinkit founder Albinder would acquire automobiles following rounds of investment.

In his chat, Ashneer stated that while he is “passionate about automobiles,” Zomato’s Deepinder Goyal is obsessed with them. Deepinder acquired a vehicle the instant his round of funding was authorised, which irritated everyone.

In the podcast video, published on the YouTube website Genuine Bande, Ashneer can be heard saying, “I am enthusiastic about vehicles and it’s not just me, it’s everyone.  Deepinder, the creator of Zomato, sabse zyada shauk usko tha.

(Zomato founder Deepinder Goyal was infatuated with automobiles.) Jab bhi uska round raise hota tha uski nai sports car aa jati thi toh hum bade chidte the.

He’d acquire a sports vehicle after every round of fundraising, and we’d become irritated because he’d get to ride in fancy automobiles).”

“He would drive sporty vehicles even ten years ago,” Ashneer remarked.

When asked about the Blinkit founder, Ashneer stated that Albinder purchased a Range Rover after receiving funds. Continuing his obsession with sports vehicles, Ashneer said on the show that if he gets scratches in his new car, he is angry for a week.

However, in the case of the used four-wheelers, “they already come with a handful of scratches,” so adding a few more didn’t worry him.

However, he noted that used automobiles allowed him to be carefree since he “can drive it with comfort instead of being overly careful with a new car.” The ex-Shark Tank judge went on to explain how he established a superstition in his head and believed that unless he purchased a car, he “wouldn’t be able to complete a round of funding.”

Ashneer revealed an experience about purchasing a used luxury automobile after learning that it formerly belonged to former Indian cricket team captain MS Dhoni.

Ashneer explained, “I acquired a GLS (Mercedes-Benz GLS) from Jharkhand with a VIP number, and the salesman got me to buy it by stating that the vehicle had belonged to Dhoni.”

That’s how the  Bharat Pe co-founder revealed he fulfilled his fascination with sports cars.
