IIM Grad Shuvajit Payne, The Man Left His Decent Job In London To Teach In Rural Areas

0

IIM Graduate Shuvajit Payne, left his job in London to teach rural students in Waifad, Maharashtra. He gave up all his luxuries and comforts in shaping the minds of village kids.

It was an extremely difficult decision. My loved ones simply didn’t consider me to be behind my workday as I had no arrangement and no involvement with the advancement area. I realized that I will go around and discover something that gives me bliss,” Payne says.

Most of us want to change our life and society. It may be the change of Self-improvement, better prospects, or having a lavish life. Hey welcoming you to Times Applaud, Inspiration. Today’s inspirational story is about an Inspiring teacher who transformed the lives of rural India.

Shuvajit Payne, an IIM graduate, working in IBM, London with a hefty package, left his decent job in London to teach in the village area of Maharashtra, India. Yes, it was the sheer determination and an idea that popped up in the mind of Shuvajit. He added his potential to his determination to bring a revolution in the field of education.

How does a person make such a big change and force the world to change? How will you act in a state where there are not enough means to fulfill your basic needs and job is the mere need of the hour?

Some people attend parties, organize weekends, and love to live a life of happiness and joy but there are some also who live for a cause. A cause that reforms reshape and rebuild society. Shuvajit is one of them.

When he was asked why he opted for the down-trodden students? Shuvajit says:

“I dream for India where every rural region will have all-sufficient resources, stimulating teachers, and are developed concerning social contentedness”

Shuvajit Payne was born in a middle-class family in Kolkata. He was the same as every other ordinary boy, struggling to fulfill his basic necessity. He graduated in Economics from the Presidency College, Kolkata.

In the beginning, he was a bit confused about his career. Later, He applied for the CAT examination with the advice of his friend. His successful attempt landed him from Kolkata to IIM, Lucknow. He did his MBA in finance and marketing and migrated to London to earn some good pounds. He was fortunate enough to secure a job at IBM. Here, his corporate life started with lots of adventure and excitement, foreign tours, meeting clients, and whatnot. He had been working with IBM as a Consultant for four years. One day, on a social site, he posted a picture of his office from the window. One of his friends commented below ‘Who is outside the window?’ By then the self-realization struck his mind and he understood that his life is not just to fill with comforts but for society as well. This was the turning point in the life of Shuvajit Payne.

When all your wishes are fulfilled, then there is something so-called emptiness that crawls in the heart, and it needs to be filled with something new, meaningful, and work full of satisfaction.

He clearly states his corporate experience: “ I wanted to ensure that I was financially independent. Notwithstanding, from the very beginning, my point was to plan something straightforwardly helpful for the individuals who need to uphold.”

From that moment, his life perspective changed and he decided to work for something which would give him a sense of self-satisfaction.

He determined himself to educate the rural kids and make their lives meaningful. He decided to cleanse the real Treasury of the village so that the kids would empower themselves in all their dimensions.

No one wants to become a farmer. The youthful age needs to escape from the villages. But this is not a bad move. Agriculture in India requires huge investment. If 2 or 3 students from a family improve occupations, they can furrow their payback to cultivating. Therefore, it is most vital that they empower themselves.

He resigned from his job and changed his plot in the field of social development. Payne got many disapprovals right from his friends, colleagues, and family. But something deep beneath him wanted a true meaning of his life. Initially, he intended to travel across the country to know what means he could do actually for society on his own. Sooner or later, he got to know about SBI Youth For India Fellowship. This fellowship was something that he always wanted for. Shuvajit became a member of the SBI Youth family which provides a lot of opportunities for the youths to work in the development of the rural and backward areas.

Shuvajit got his first posting at Waifad, a small village in the Wardha district of Maharashtra. He was now completely detached from the outer world working on creating new ideas, finding a way to get maximum outcomes, and all this was in an environment of improper infrastructure.

Shuvajit commenced his holy work while teaching English to the Village students & used many pedagogical and technical aspects to feed and reshape young minds.

Along with this, he also honed their skills in the field of Computers and software.

Shuvajit Payne had his 50 most effective ideas which he implemented and succeeded in making a living for many students he taught.

“There are schools in villages but no teachers. On the off chance that there are educators, at that point, they don’t come to work. Rather than giving out gifts, the Public Authority should make individuals responsible for work,” says Shuvajit Payne

With his outstanding performance and dedication towards serving society, he got the post of Programme Director in SBI ‘Youth for India’ Fellowship. His target is to make more than 100 fellows by the end of this year.

He has a kind heart towards the farmers also. He discussed many issues with the farmer and has been trying to resolve them.

Imparting knowledge among the young mind is yet a challenging work for many, especially at the ground level of rural regions.

Although Shuvajit Payne had lots of ups and downs in life, he left his fancy job in London to teach the rural kids. This was only for the change he wanted in society. What do you feel about this? Let us know your views below.

Rays Power Expert Nidhi Gupta to an enterprise worth 500 Cr.

0

Nidhi Gupta, a 23-year-old girl had been facing many obstacles in her life until she successfully set up Rays Expert, a Jaipur-based Solar power plant. The business is now booming with a 500 Cr turnover.

Hey buddies, I welcome you again to the Times Applaud, Inspirational. Today, we have a true extract of an Indian middle-class girl of Rajasthan who made a business worth 500 Cr, and that’s all with no professional degree at all.

23 years is an age of development, planning for the career, shaping our personalities in different aspects. Here, Nidhi has shown the world that impossible is just a word for a positive mindset person. She transformed all her sufferings to make a prosperous life for herself.

It is said that:

Success never comes by hard labor but with smart labor. Notwithstanding several discrepancies around her, Nidhi was engrossed in her business with all her efforts.

She established her company in 2011 with the help of his brother Rahul Gupta with a mere capital of Rs. 1,37,000 on loan.

“Our first project was a 250-kilowatt solar project in Bikaner on four bighas of land. Afterward, we began purchasing land around the site.” -says Nidhi.

Initial planning was tough as many entrepreneurs face.

She has small to medium investors who wanted some benefits and rebates in their Income Tax returns and tax invoice. Rays Power buys some lands on the side of those investors and distributes them equally. She discloses her dealings about one of her clients who put a venture of 1 MW revenue of approx Rs 6 crores, he will earn his

investment back in the next four years. We likewise ensure customer income from power age for the following 25 years. This way our clients would get full profit out of their investment in addition to that they get the extra tax benefit of their business too.

The Social front of Nidhi Gupta’s life had its challenges.

Social Relationships

Her friends and relatives started feeling envious of her and this could easily be seen in their behaviors. All the people with whom she met, started jealous of her. But she did not let these things dominate her mind and be ready to do her work consistently to upgrade her Rays Power firm. She says that if you don’t give a shit to others for the sufferings they are giving you, you won’t feel those suffering. She took their deportments as stimulation to come up with better results.

She was a girl with so many wishes she had but while busy in her

start-up she did not care about those wishes anymore. Nidhi clearly states that: “There was a time I used to love riding horses but I just don’t have the time anymore.”

Assiduous Routine

Nidhi had her grip over her routine tightly. Her work was something like a never-ending slog. She and her brother, Rahul Gupta toil for the entire day. Their meetings, visiting sites, commitments for the

clients start from the early morning and end till the late night. Being in an orthodox society in Rajasthan, where women don’t go out after 7 PM, She says, “I hardly remember that I have come home before 10 PM.

After all, What is that particular thing in us which makes us so much determined towards our purpose?

Nidhi’s Background

She belongs to a middle-class family where her mother is a homemaker and her father is a government employee. Nidhi was barely fond of styling, fashion, or touring. She clearly admits in one of her interviews that she has no interest in those attractive ornaments, fashionable trends, etc.

Where does this astonishing soul come from? After all the victories, even today, She is a similar woman from inside as she was previously. She has earned her heights on the strength of her blood and sweat.

Nidhi Gupta is presently the Executive Director in Rays Power Expert Pvt. Ltd in Delhi. Her Solar Power energy business is now experiencing leverage of over 450 Megawatt (MW) of consulting portfolios. RaysExpert has been emerging as a bright star in the Solar Power Industry and has successfully stood itself as a leader commissioning 175 MW all over India. We aim to reach the

milestones of 1000 Cr. by this year. RaysExperts offer configurable power generation ready to walk-in units that enable the construction of a fully integrated solar power utility-scale power plant. These small blocks RayFarms deliver bankable PV energy at the highest tariff across the diverse regions of our country.

How did it start?

Started in June 2020, Abhimanyu a tea startup has five employees who deliver nearly 700 cups of tea a day and earns an income of Rs. 50,000 a month. But Revan, a 28-year-old gentleman says he never wanted to be a businessman. He has made the most of what he has on a journey of achievement.

Revan little suspected that one week later, due to the pandemic of coronavirus, the country would be shut down strictly. The new contractor lost all the savings he had invested in his company due to the unforeseen turn of events.

In June, Revan saw a chance to return to his feet somewhere over the months. The city began to open slowly around that time, and people returned to work in small quantities. But employees in the manufacturing and bank sectors were still worried about approaching their nearest tea sellers because of their health issues.

Revan noticed that the second issue was that the tea was wrapped in plastic bags, which were unhealthy and not of customer preferences. He wanted to make it his sales point with protection being his focus. So he began to approach prospective customers directly in their offices with a thermal and paper cup. To increase his business he provided the first service free and later led to growth in his business.

Growth of Business

For two months Revan continued his free tea exercise. The banks and industrial and commercial areas distributed tea to employees of the bank. The customers started to call him for orders after some time. The startup also provides coffee and hot milk along with ginger tea. At Rs 6 there is a small cup of tea offered, while a large cup is at Rs 10.

Most potential clients who tried Abhimanyu tea were delighted that it was hygienically and safe drinks that were easily delivered to their desk without being afraid of endangering health in the tea room.

Around 700 cups are served by Abhimanyu in all of Pimpri Chinchwad from six months after the operation, and the Revan venture gained Rs 2,000 daily income. The monthly business has scaled up to 2 lakhs a month, with profits of approximately 50 thousand.

Providing services to others

The entrepreneur says it wouldn’t have been possible without his elder brother, although his financial situation had improved compared with a year earlier. After Revan’s first company collapsed, his family lost trust in him. But his elder brother Sidharam encouraged Revan in tough times also.

When asked what his family thinks of his success now, Revan answers, that today his family admires and encourages his efforts. Revan also began supporting his village students and most of the poor students are going to study there. Revan wishes to provide education to unprivileged students and for now, he can only afford five students and is willing to reach out to more, as his finance permits him. He has also arranged a room for rent to take care of their lodging costs and the cost of food.

The Story of Rashesh Shah the CEO of Edelweiss Group

0

Rashesh Shah, the CEO of Edelweiss Group, was the wonder child right from his childhood. He was born on 30 September 1963 in a Gujarati family. The main family occupation was business so you can say that he was born with businessman blood in his veins.

The early life of Rashesh Shah

His school life was spent in Mumbai and after that, he enrolled himself in the KC College, Mumbai for a degree in Bachelor of Science in Statistics.

He had no intention of following the family tradition of joining the business and so after getting his bachelor’s degree. he studied exports at the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade.

His childhood dream was to be an executive officer in a good company so he completed his MBA from Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad in 1989.

After completing his MBA, he briefly joined the company Prime Securities Ltd but was unsatisfied with the work. So he joined one of the leading banks in the financial market, the ICICI Bank. He planned to settle down in ICICI for the time being.

In ICICI his work was interacting with new companies that were competing in the global financial market. He had to conduct meetings with the leading companies of that time like Infosys, and it was during this period in his life that he decided to build his startup.

He planned to work at ICICI for as long as he can to amass enough money to start his own business.

The economic situation of India at that time had started improving and a lot of new entrepreneurs started working in the global market.

He started gaining a lot of experience in entrepreneurship in this period of his life where he had to converse with a lot of foreign investors.

The Leap of Faith

However, starting a business in those days was a hectic process. The time period was mockingly called ‘Licence Raj’ because to start a company, a complex number of licences were required. There was a lot of bureaucratic red tapes that a person had to cross in order to start their own company, so starting a new business was not a very provocative idea and almost akin to a nightmare.

But in 1991, the then Finance Minister Dr Manmohan Singh made a lot of changes in the financial market and the opened the Indian economy for foreign and local trades by introducing the liberalisation policy in 1991.

It was during this period that Rashesh decided it was the opportune time to quit his job in ICICI and try his luck in building his own company. He saw many new changes in the capital markets as new companies started emerging. It was a very fertile period for entrepreneurship in India.
